Utah 2

October 30th, 2008

It feels like I’ve eaten more food this week than in my entire life.

It all started on Monday with Car’s Jr which is an extremely weird Hardee’s. I also ate at Red Rock which is pub food. I must admit that they have some great pub places here. With more local beer than any one person can handle in a week, probably the best thing about Salt Lake City.

Tuesday for lunch I went to Apollo burger, a 24hr fast food place.  Definitely more upscale than White Castle.  This is where people who lived in Salt Lake proceeded to tell me they have fry sauce.  It’s basically ketchup and miracle whip and it’s their claim to fame on food.  Also on Tuesday I went to Sawadee Thai, which was delicious. I’ve never had Thai food before and we got a dish which was super spicy.

Wednesday was Squatters for dinner, another pub.  I got a great black and tan there.

Thursday I went to Chubby’s for lunch, a very authentic Hispanic joint that was reasonably priced.  Dinner was at Rodizio Grill, The Brazilian Steakhouse.  You have to really enjoy meat to like one of these places.  They just come to your table and keep feeding you what seems to be an endless supply of meat.  It’s hard to keep up there is so many kinds of meat.  They also have a salad bar with meat salads.  Everything tasted great though and I recommend any carnivore going.

The local greens aren’t the greatest.

Utah 1

October 30th, 2008

Salt Lake City is the greatest city in the world normal, except for the Mormons (more on that later).  The plane ride wasn’t a big deal besides super boring and they played a stupid movie.  Something amazing happened though, I sat next to Michael freaking Bolton!!! (ok… not that one) but still this guy was a huge dick.  They asked for a $2 breast cancer donation for a cup of pink lemonade.  He obviously didn’t hear this and thought it was water, ok not a big deal, but after accepting the pink lemonade she made it aware of the $2 he gave her a buck.  What a cheap bastard.

The first day was Antelope island, the only island in Utah I assume.  It’s in the middle of the salt lake, I took a lot of pictures.

We also went to park city, where the Olympics were, and it’s the off season so it’s boring.

Pictures are continued
