Chairman of the World

November 17th, 2008

IMG_2081.jpg I finally ditched that broken chair I’ve been using but in all fairness I was waiting for a deal like this one.  Initially I thought the chair was going to be $45 with a floor mat and a protection plan, two things I definitely did not need, but when the employee totaled the sale it came to $26!  I was so surprised that this originally priced chair of $80 was marked down this much.  It is very orange which is a color that most people would not be thrilled with but I could care less.  It was mentioned that if the chair was used on carpet it would void the warranty but as Joe correctly stated the carpet is not the chair’s kryptonite. I believe only an idiot would have problems with a chair on carpet.

I’m sooo awesome

November 14th, 2008

I enjoy the game of poker and I have purchased a sample of real poker chips.  The people I have lived probably have something to say about this but I enjoy playing with them, it’s loud.  I can do a few “tricks” but shuffling them is by far the loudest.  I don’t have a video of me shuffling but here is a little bit of what I do, these are really easy and I didn’t buy them to impress anyone with my amazing skillz.  It’s cool to use clay chips and now it’s just something I do anytime they are in front of me

I do have a poker tournament tonight, should be interesting!

Fun

Hot stuff

November 8th, 2008

IMG_2073.JPG Tonight I took my first adventures into pickling.  I would just prefer to buy extremely spicy pickles but I did not find them at shoprite.  I’m beginning to wonder if I should find a different foodstore that can supply my eating needs better.  I didn’t follow the recipe exactly but I’m excited to see how they are going to turn out.  From what I can tell right now is that they are going to be the hottest carrots ever

I added an events portion to the site at the top there, keep looking up… yeah there it is.  I’m going to add events there that I want to attend so I don’t forget and I actually get around to doing them.

After the cut there is a very funny picture I forgot to post before from salt lake city.

I voted

November 5th, 2008

I can’t believe they didn’t ask for ID at the polls.  The one guy there thought I was Chris and if I knew “Chris” I could have voted as him.  It doesn’t really help me to vote as other people considering Jersey continues to be Democratic since the 1992 election.  It means I could have gone to other polling places and voted as random people that I knew wasn’t voting.

I personally wasn’t too concerned with the outcome of the vote but it seems to me that it wasn’t handled well.  In Philadelphia some people apparently waited six hours to vote!  It took me five minutes and that’s only because I actually had to make a decision.  After this many elections and voting machines how can we still have problems?

Utah 3

November 1st, 2008

The ENTIRE road system is based around the Mormon temple.  If you go south of the temple then it’s 300 S. or 400 S. depending on how far away you get.  In some places they renamed the streets from that to actual street names but people still call it by the coordinates.  Needless to say it’s easy to get lost but impossible to lose the temple.

It seemed that SLC had an abundance of women with black hair.  I’m wondering if this is a style thing over in Utah or are these woman just born with dark hair.
